To live in the modern world without an open mind is a senseless deprivation of self. With the technology that exists, man has the ability to communicate with others around the world in mere seconds. This should facilitate the spread of ideas as well as the acceptance and appreciation of differences between cultures. Maybe if we were all brainwashed with the idea of accepting other ideas as opposed to rejecting them without consideration, our society could advance with a much higher degree of tolerance.
